Your Cub Cadet Lawn Tractor Maintenance Schedule

Now that you have performed your Spring Maintenance on your Cub Cadet Lawn Tractor, do you wonder when you need to do it again? Here is a quick and easy checklist to keep you on track for the rest of the mowing season. First make a note of the hours on your Cub Cadet Lawn Tractor from your last maintenance then go forward from that point.
Cub Cadet Lawn Tractor Maintenance Checklist:
Check These Items Before Each Use
- Check Your Blades for and Nicks and Abrasions
- Check Under the Hood for Debris
- Remove Any Excessive Grass and Debris Buildup.
- Check Your Oil Level
- Check Your Air Filter for any Build Up of Debris or Dirt
Maintenance These Items Every 50 Hours
- Change Engine Oil and Oil Filter
- Lubricate Your Deck Anti-Scalp Wheels (if applicable)
Maintenance These Items Every 10 Hours
- Clean Under Your Hood and Louvers for Any Debris.
- Clean Your Battery Terminals
- Lubricate Your Pedal Pivot Points (Brake and Hydrostatic Drive Pedals)
Replace the Following Every 100 Hours
- Air Filter Element
- Spark Plug
- Fuel Filter
Maintenance These Items Every 25 Hours
- Clean and Re-oil Your Pre-filter if Applicable
- Clean Your Engine Cooling Fans (if applicable)
- Check Your Blades and Sharpen if Necessary
- Lubricate Your Wheel Rims and Axles
Prior to Storage for the Winter Do the Following
- Clean Off the Battery Terminals
- Lubricate Your Wheel Rims and Axles
- Clean Your Engine Cooling Fins
- Lubricate the Deck Wheels
- Check Spark Plug
- Make Sure Your Fuel has Stabilizer in it.

*Note, A couple of things to keep in mind with your Cub Cadet Lawn Tractor: Most riding lawn mowers do not have the blade speed of larger units. The blades are typically lighter than those of larger units. Checking them more frequently for nicks and abrasions is very important to maintain the cut you want.
